COVID-19 Reflection
Through Monologues
Event Showcase

Over the past few weeks, 23 members of our community across faculty, students, and alumni have collaborated to inspire, create, direct, and perform 8 distinct monologues. On Tuesday, December 15th, 2020, we hosted a live performance showcase for these monologues. These monologues aimed to be reflective and thought-provoking for our community and we are so excited to share them with you. Watch with your family, friends, co-workers, anyone you'd like! Feel free to share this email with whoever you think would love to watch our reflection.

NOTES ABOUT THE EVENT

But what is this event really? Well, think about the last year. How have we changed since March? Since February? What did we prioritize then that we don’t now? Would we recognize the people we were back then? What caused these changes in us? This micro event centers around the answers to those questions and many more through a series of interviews, monologues, and performances.

This December, Alison Rogers hosted a micro event to reflect on the effects of COVID-19 on our sense of self and personality through monologue work. This event was in collaboration with the Tectonic Theater Project, the creative force behind works such as The Laramie Project and the theatre process Moment Work™. The Tectonic Theater Project aims to create groundbreaking art that catalyzes conversations.

Barb Pitts McAdams from the Tectonic Theater Project led a two-day workshop. The first day focused on interview-based theatre and the second on Moment Work™.
